What shall we expect of the price war
in the clouds?
Analysts' forecasts on the continuous
price war among the providers of cloud solutions have proven to be
true. In the end of March, Google, Amazon Web Services and Microsoft
decreased the prices of their cloud servers, disk space and other
services. The decreasing of the prices is expected to continue with
the increase in effectiveness of cloud services. In the high-tech
business, price reduction is considered a positive event because it
allows a larger number of companies to acquire cloud services and
realize their business processes in a cloud computing model. But many
partners who work with Google, Amazon and Microsoft, although
agreeing that the provision of low prices is better, consider the
main battle in the clouds a the battle for differentiation – i.e. a
war on creating differences between the products of various
manufacturers, designed to meet the same needs.
